Hi :)p

One of my piggies (Chibi) is a BEW rex and when i got her she was lovely and white.. well a year later her fur has gone "grey" it looks like she is dirty basically...

she has been like this for a while..

her skin is certainly not flakey, she isnt itchy.. ive treated her for mites, fungal, bathed her in various shampoos and still this dirty fur wont shift..?/

is this something that happends with older piggies? her face especially is the worse.. I'm just puzzled what this is? I shall get a picture tomorrow and show you what i mean..

the only picture i have on hand is this one (she is the one on the left "obviously".. as you can see she has a dirty face (not white) )

Was Chibi young when you got her?
I have heard other piggie parents say that sometimes their piggies fur changes slightly.
Maybe also more of her heritage is coming thru? aka taking more after her mum or dad now :)

she was around a year old when i got her.. The lady had loads of rex's free to good homes (i always wanted a rex) so she was finding homes for all her pets.. I did take on another rex but sadly she died early this year..

just curious.. i shall get a picture late and show a comparison..

My piggy Fermi started turning gray too. She was mostly brown, but now on her back, she's got gray hair, which wasn't there before. She's only 1 year old too, and a teddy piggy! :{

I *think* I remember Wiebke saying her old boar changed colour.
Is it all over or just on her nose? Maybe she's turning into a himi :p

Both Llewlyn and Taffy have changed colour. They have gor a lot more dark hair in their ginger, and it turned distinctly dun after 2-3 years of age.

Llewelyn, 1 year

Llewelyn, 4 years

Nia's gold has grown darker and a bit duller. Coats can cheange somewhat over the years.

One of my pigs fur has changed colour too. He was white, ginger, black and now he is grey, black, ginger and white! Some of his black fur has changed into a soft grey colour, not like old age grey but a subtle grey.

I'm sure pigs change colour just to get us confused! :))

My girl Pumpkin was a distinct orange when I first got her, hence the name XD, but now in later life (she's 3 not next week the one after!), she's more of a caramel/pale brown. I think their colour just changes with time, much like humans. Or your guinea is secretly a chameleon... I'd go with first one XD

I think some coats continuing changing as the pig matures... I know this is true for some dog breeds, so I can't see a reason why it wouldn't be true for some piggies.

Heck, I'm not half as blonde as I was when I was a kid either!
