hello all,

yesterday i cleaned out my piggies and cut all their claws. first off i did the girls claws and checked them over for lumps and bumps etc. when i got to Rita i noticed she had something stuck on her foot. i gently went to pull it off thinking she had a piece of poo stuck on her foot but it wouldn't come off. it looks like a hard skin growth. she has them on both of her front paws.

i then did the boys and Teddy has the same thing. it doesn't seem to be bothering them but i have no idea what it is! i would take a picture but my camera is broken.

has anyone else had this before? all my other piggies are fine. i will take them to the vets tomorrow but i am just a bit baffled! i asked mum if she remembered anything like this happening before but she doesn't.

thanks for any advice

Cat :)

thanks, that seems to be what is wrong my piggies feet. i will still take them to the vets anyway just so the vet can show me how to remove them properly so that if it happens again i can do it myself!

its great to now what it is! :)

If you do a forum search on foot spurs you should be able to find out all the info you need

I agree with Elle, there's no need to pay your vet. They are easily clipped off, you just make sure you don't clip too near to the foot itself. I've never had one bleed & have clipped a few off different piggies over the years :)
