SamChamp
New Born Pup
My approx 2yr old rescue (had him since Apr) has a growth on the ridge of his nose that first appeared approx 5 weeks ago, it was small for a while so assumed it was a wart, but it has grown since, he is healthy/active/eating/drinking etc.
I took him to my local vets today to have it checked out, the vet advised to have it removed and tested ASAP before it grows anymore, and to find out what it is, the vet hadn't seen a growth like it before:/ All this for an approx ball park figure of £255!! I left confused, concerned and very unsure about what to do as well as how will I tell my husband how much we will have to spend on this little fella. I said I needed a few days to consider my options. I used these vets with my dog and they were always did the best by her, he didn't feel my with guinea savvy knowledge though.
Option 1: Go ahead with this vet, stomach the cost and hope for the best.
Option 2: Seek a second opinion from an unknown source.
Option 3: continue to monitor the growth and deal with the outcomes afterall he is a happy healthy chappy and he doesn't seem bothered by it (hmm not convinced this is an option really).
What would you do?
Kookie is my first guinea pig and I really want to do the best for him, he and his lady friend give us such joy.
Any advice, experiance, tips welcomed.
