So I'm not sure if this the right thread but any who...... So I see pictures of Guinea pigs the size and length of forearms. Do all get that big or only certain breeds cause my girls are still fit in my hands. Yes they are well fed and exercised. Or will they eventually grow in time with age.

How old are you piggies?
The adult length is around 25cm - some are going to be bigger, some smaller

2 will be a year around November and one will turn a year next January

So they are around 6 months and 4 months of age. They won’t reach their full length until they are around 14 or So months of age.

Oh ok thank you. I was just curious about it seeing all these huge Guinea pigs

I have 6 full grown guinea pigs and they vary in weight from a really petite girl (Hazel) at 850g to my heaviest at just under 1.3kg (Mavis). I also have a 10 month old boar (Milo) weighing in at 1.2 kg, so i think he may be the heaviest when he stops growing.

Do weigh your piggies weekly as this means you can check that they are gaining weight as they should. Any sustained weight loss can be the first sign of illness.

It is worth reading this thread about Weight Monitoring.
