I collected 4 piggies from a guy whose "kids had lost interested" and there was a baby boar in with 2 females and a 6 month old boar seperated. There was a massive 6ft hutch that the guy said he would bring to me as it wouldn't fit in my car. I could have sold it to raise funds or got rid of some of my old ones but he isn't replying to any of my communications! I know where he lives though and I am tempted to threaten to go back and collect it with some one else! I hate that, he could go and get more now and I am fumingpow-pow:laluot_32:
 
Thats why we have a trailer, we collect anything that could be used to keep animals, even if extremly small. Are you not able to get a trailer, its a good investment. Or borrow one from sombody?

We then have piece of mind that they atleast wont be putting animals back into those ones.

You cant trust what people say, if they are going to abuse the animals they are ment to care for do you really think they are honest people?

go and pick it up, just turn up and say youve been trying to get hold of him etc and have come to get the hutch out of his way.
 
I would just try going round to collect it, no harm can come of it unless it is totally miles away and then it will only be a waste of petrol money and time?
 
I have an old heavy hutch 4x2 if anyone would like it, I am in wednesfield wolverhampton.
 
How horrible for you. I hope he hasn't got any more animals and that he's either just too lazy to bring it or has sold it on. I know that doesn't help you but would mean that he hasn't got any more pets.
If you feel up to it then go round with someone else and try and collect it. But don't be suprised if it's suddenly not available.
I'm sorry this has happened to you. I guess dishonesty is an unfortunate thing that rescues have to deal with. grrrr
At least these guinea pigs have a secure and happy future by coming through your rescue. :(|)
 
I would personally go around.

Try not to get angry about it and put it as a lesson learned. He might well have sold it realising he could make money.

i would go get it with some one :) if its embarrasing just tell him you think your phone (hence your email) is playing up so you didnt know if he had been trying to get in touch. not underhand given how hes behaving!
 
Don't give yourself a hard time if you feel you can't do it. He's the one at fault. I probably wouldn't want to have to deal with someone again who's been dishonest. Best thing he did was hand over the guinea pigs to you. :)
 
I think I'd need some one to do it for me lol I am ok lying to people and being nice to their faces but I am no good with confrontation. He has young kids too though.

What would I use to get it home if he gave it to me when I got there as he felt guilty?

Aw hun if i was up north i would come with you or go get it ! :) but if he has kiddies around best not set up confrontation. at least the piggies are safe thats the main thing :(|)
 
ohh ive had this all the timerolleyesone time i had a bloke who owns is own business making sheds hutches etc, he asked me if i wanted anything built as a way of saying thanks for having his guineas well he said it would be done in 3 wks,that was 5 months ago and still not a word just goes to show that all people are not what they make out to be.ive also had offers of help in fundraising but know body has ever helped me ever i do it all single handed along with 4 kids but i enjoy every minute of it as hard has it is at timesxx
