Ok, I always used to give my guinea pigs Gerty guinea pig and they used to eat it but suddenly they started selective feeding so I have tried a few others and they selective feed on them all!

Does anyone know of any food they will actually eat??

Pellets are the best for 'combating' selective eating, but in the wild they selective eat and it's not a ****. Sometimes mine favour some things over others (including veg etc) but I think they just eat what they instinctively believe they need. Read something on Galen's garden that said something similar. Generally pellets are healthier though as they (usually) don't contain lots of unnatural colourings.

Hi Jon :)

The only food I have found so far that they actually finish with clean bowls is Wagg Optimum they do both a guinea pig and rabbit variety, its just little pellets :)

if you want to try a few both burgess and science selective will send out free samples! the links to their websites are in the freebies sticky (not sure on which catergory it is maybe general)

mine have tescos guinea pig musili plus vit c. its cheap and they eat most of it.

i think the idea they eat what they need is right as the bowls are never clear but the food left is always different.

I have just started to use Pets at Home Muesli which has now changed. It is mainly pellets mixed with some either pieces and my pigs are getting through bowls of it during day and night..I can't believe my eyes! My lot are the pickiest ever so I'm chuffed. £13 (ish) for a 15kg bag.
