i have a really grumpy piggy! Scruffy is such a moody piggy, all he does is lay out all day and sleeps! - ok maybe not all day every day but always on your lap!

He snaps at Max my 10 week old piggy for no reason and makes him really upset - does anyone else have this problem? hes so grumpy!

Oh yes, our older boy Dylan is like this - I understand Dylan's reasons, he was so badly bullied by other pigs before his rescue it gave him a stroke and now he loves to chat and interact with other pigs but will not share his space at all - we've given up trying now! Is Scruffy a rescue piggie with a bad past that could have made him like this do you think?

I wonder if some pigs are just natural loners and happy on their own!

no, i had him since 7/8 weeks, he was on his own until mid august. He is happier than before as when i take Max away hel ooks for him and goes quiet, but hes just so moody. If max gets near his face he snaps round and him - he even does it it my hand and remote!

yeah hes nearly 7 months. i hope so, i dont want him to be a grumpy old man pig! lol it is funny though!

It could be just hormones then - I would say that if he was clearly unhappy or biting a bit when you touch him or pick him up it would be worth checking for sore skin such as mites or fungal for example, but it's probably just him being stroppy!

thanks! i will keep an eye, hes not hurting Max so nothing like that. ive checked his skin and all is okay, they get regular washes and checks so lets hope its that!

Thanks for all your help!

My Tinker is a grumpy old man to an extent. He is happy in his cage and run eating and doing his own thing, interact with him and he does not want to know.

My Leo recently had a new cage mate Thomas, he ended up hurting him, blood was shed so they had to be split up but Leo misses him, I know he does but he can't hurt him so I had no other option. They have eye contact but no physical contact now.

My oldest boar is the Alf Garnett of the guinea world, fussy eater occasional headbutter and lazy and grumpy with it but this is just his way and he's still adorable. He currently lives with a younger boar and rules supreme but aside from an occasional show of teeth and acts of bravado they get on like a house on fire and this just seems to be his personality. As long as he doesn't physically hurt max I'm sure all will be fine

Toby is relatively Grumpy like I could have him running on my bed (well not running but moving) then out of nowhere he chatters his teeth! He is a pretty grumpy piggy
