Grumpy Pig

Ok, so my guinea pig has been grumpy lately, and she's just been hiding in her little cardboard house. When her sister tries to go in she makes that sound that goes "hrrrrrr" which means "stay away" or "stop that". I was thinking that maybe she wants a boyfriend or something and that's why she's grumpy, but I could be wrong. Any ideas? rolleyes

(Any advice on cheering her up is welcome too.)

I havent got any ideas on cheering her up. Is she like this all the time? Do your two girls ever fight? Sometimes sows get tempremental when they are in season every 17 or so days. Is she still eating ok? Sometimes mood changes can be a sign of an illness or your piggie not feeling herself.

I don't think she's sick; I checked her out and everything seems completely fine except for the grumpiness...she seems like she's doing better today, so I'm thinking it was just the '17 day' thing. Thanks for your help! p

I don't have girls, but I am just wondering if piggies just have quiet, grumpy days on occasion? Thumper is my more hyper, active piggy and the odd time he just has a day where he isn't bothered by anything apart from food, he'll just hide in his house all day, no popcorning or running about having no clue how much it scares me when he does this! Then the next day he is absolutely fine, back to his normal crazy self!
