Help! We got back from a weekend away on Monday, and noticed that one of our little piggies is making a sort of grunting noise when she breathes. It's not there every time she breathes, but has been there every time we've seen her. It sometimes gets louder when she moves around, and can sound a little bit like croaking.
I'm a bit worried and can't decide whether to take her to the vet today, or leave it till tomorrow and see if it clears up.
Any advice is welcomed!

If you're worried, take her. It could be the start of a URI, some sort of allergy to what she's bedded on OR it could be nothing. Even if it's just to put your mind at rest x

I agree with @smokeysmummy it's always best to get them into a vet if you are in doubt, if you think it's a URI I would get your piggie in sooner rather than later if you can.

I hope all goes well!

Hi and welcome!

Please have your piggy vet checked. it could be the beginning of a respiratory tract infection, which should never be underestimated.

As we have got members from all over the world, we find it very helpful if please added your country, state or (for the UK) your county, so we can always tailor any advice and recommendations to what is available or possible where you are. Please click on your username on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location.

We have got a recommended piggy savvy UK vets locator on th top bar, but can provide a link for recommended vets in other countries if wished.

I will. I joined in a hurry earlier because I was worried about poppy (the piggie). Now that my minds at rest I'll go and sort out my profile, etc. :)

Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery! ;)
