Is going to visit a guinea pig rescue centre in a few weeks.

Mixed feelings... excitement at seeing all the little fluffys. Sadness as to why.

And a strange feeling I'm betraying Freddie and Marmalade.

Someone said to me they thought Freddie and Marmalade would want me to rescue some new friends but, knowing Freddie like I did, I get the feeling he'd be quite happy with the thought of me being heartbroken over him for the rest of my life... he was a bit jealous over my love ;-)

EDIT: I'm clearly so excited I can't even spell the title to this thread!

Oh that is very exciting news! Please do not feel guilty. If you offer a pair of guinea pigs a home you are rescuing two unwanted little ones. That is a lovely thing to do.

Yay! I am pleased, you have lots of love to give, some piggies will be incredibly lucky to come home with you... I understand the double edged sword, new piggies are always exciting but as I always feel the reason I am getting new is because I have lost ones I love dearly.

You are not betraying your 'boys' at all, you will be giving a fantastic life to some more little ones... They won't replace Freddie and Marmalade, they will find their own place in your life and heart.

I may edit the title for you :)

Hello again. Am so glad your going to get some more little ones to love. Some little guineas are going to be very lucky :D

Aww, that's lovely to hear :) No-pig will ever replace Freddie and Marmalade, but they will create their own place in your heart and home x

I agree with above posts.
New Guinea Pigs won't replace Freddie and Marmalade - they don't need to. You will have some more bundles of joy plus fond memories of Freddie and Marmalade.

Exciting! :D

It's defintely hard, I struggled taking Piglet when Squeak passed. But I had to adapt quickly as Bubble was in need of a friend.

Your new piggies will never replace your boys, never. They will find a new place in your heart and make new memories!

Don't forget the pictures of your new piggies! :D
