Hi all! I was just debating whether or not it would be a good idea to get some different hay for my boys. I currently have 2 hay racks. 1 filled with burgess excel dandelion and marigold and the other alfalfa king timothy hay. They also have a mountain of The Ranges meadow hay to burrow in but I was thinking of getting something a bit different that they can have aswell as these hays and just as an occasional treat but I'm not sure what to get. I don't want any hay with just herbs thrown in it because I do that myself. Once a week they get a handful of dried herbs mixed into their meadow hay. I've seen there is orchard hay, oat hay, readigrass, and all sort of varieties but which one is best and how often should i feed it? Thank you for your time 😃

I love giving different varieties. I also buy oat hay and mountain hay. It comes down to the individual piggies as to what they prefer. So sone of mine will head staight for mountain hay before anything else.
I also mix dried herbs in.
And I give them a different hay everyday on top of the standard meadow hay.

I usually give orchard grass and oat (or mixed cereal hay with oat, wheat and spelt) hay as treat hay, sometimes polish hay when I see it. I used to give readigrass but I'm really allergic to It, I'm currently trying the oat version of readigrass and the pigs love it. They've also got a bag of mountain hay which is lovely and green and fresh smelling.
I pop a handful or so of the treat hay per pig on to the floor every day.
