My piggy has always evened to be friendly but the last few days when I hold him for lap time he has begun to nibble me, not hard but as if to say go away? This is new and has not occurred before. Does any one know what this may be and what is causing it?

Piggies tend to start nibbling during laptime when they need a wee, this might be the case with yours? :)

Is it as soon as you have him out or after a short while? I've heard of some pigs doing this to give you a warning that they need to wee :)

Some pigs lick and nibble on hands simply because they taste interesting or they think it may be food. We have had a couple nips from Hadley because, although she doesn't aggressively bite skin, she doesn't seem to realize that fingernails are attached to us. She will also aggressively pursue shirt sleeves!

I just posted a similar question, mine squirms more than bites, although occasionally that too. It's a new behavior and immediate not at wee time. Strange

He is telling you that he's had enough and wants home. Many guinea pigs also use nibbling to announce that they need to go back to the cage for a wee.
