MommaPiggy
Adult Guinea Pig
My poor boys. I bathed them today, as they were pretty stinky.
Ralph went nuts halfway through and I think it was because the water in the bowl (I have a sink bowl that I fill with water, to rinse them with) was too cold, because when I poured a little onto him, he went crazy and he'd been pretty calm since then and has never kicked up a fass like that before (Except for his first ever bath!)
His legs went crazy and I lost my hold on him, he jumped right into my face and luckily landed back in the bath without hurting him but he splashed Arnold, who was stood on his back legs, with his front paws on my arm (He seems to stay calm as long as he can do this), Ralph then darted across the bath and knocked Arnold...Causing him to fall backwards.
I caught him
thankfully. He didn't get his head wet...I was so afraid. If I hadn't caught him, he could have really hurt himself. Baths aren't exactly soft...He could have hurt his back.
For Arnolds safety, I removed Ralph from the bath, right away. I wrapped him in a towel and plonked him on my lap, then rinsed Arnold and took him out, too.
They both sulked for ages they wouldn't let me pet them and they wouldn't even take veggies from me.
They're still pretty upset now
my poor boys. It was a pretty horrific experience. Normally bathtime is quite smooth, with Ralph trying to make the odd escape but tonight was manic.
I feel so horrible. I really think the water was too cold and it startled him. If I had been a little more careful, it would have been perfectly fine.
The first lot of water was warm but I ran out and had to get some more but it was hard to focus on it, while trying to keep my boys from leaping out of the bath. They panic if my arm leaves the tub :{ and both go frantic. As long as their little front feet can rest on my arm, they're fine.
Anyways. I was going to get them some Christmas presents anyway. I wanted to get them a stocking each and like 2 toys each but I feel so bad that I went and spent £24 on a Hammocky Hammocks cracker and a stocking each. I even went for the luxury cracker because I think they deserve it! For being such little troopers and putting up with mummy being a big meanie
I also plan to buy them alot more stuff. they'll be getting 4 chews each, they like the veggie chews you can get, like the mini carrots and also loofa balls.
They'll also be getting a bed each and new pigloos (hopefully. There old ones are looking a bit chewed now.)
But yes. Mummy is bad and needs to beg for forgiveness at Christmas
maybe get them something they can have between now and then, too.
I even ordered my weekly shopping a day early, with 2 extra bags of parsley so that they can have a nice treat tomorrow!
