I have gone to check the cage this morning and have found blood in the cage and on my 5 year old guinea pig poppy’s bottom. They went out on the grass yesterday and seemed fine. She has had this before about a year ago (but not as bad) and was treated with antibiotics, which seemed to clear it up. I don’t think it’s bladder stones because I have had a guinea pig with bladder stones and she seemed to be a bit different ( squeaking when urinating). But I am very worried as she is one of my older pigs and she is bleeding quite severely.(maybe something to do with ovaries)
Thanks

You should phone the vet straight away, this could be a problem with her lady bits or with her guts, bleeding should always be considered urgent! Hope she's ok x

Cannot agree with pigglepuggle more, this needs urgent vet care

Please let us know how you get on. Fingers crossed it's just a scary symptom of something easily treatable like a uti

I'm glad she's been seen! Some bladder infections show more blood than you would expect! Hope she feels better soon!

Aw, so glad your little piggie is ok and makes a full recovery x
