Hello,
Whats your thought on training your guinea on leads/harnesses for guinea pigs and taking them for a walk?

Please do not put your piggie in a harness, it's dangerous for them.

Highway man is quite correct, piggy harnesses aren't a good idea they can cause spinal injuries. I think you'd be better investing in a nice run instead :).

It's not a good idea to use any sort of harness on your piggies as they can easily hurt their backs. As guinea pigs are prey animals any sudden noise can make them run for cover and if they had a harness on this could result in a very serious injury. Personally we would never use one due to the fragile make up of a piggies spine. Piggies love freedom so the best way to give them this is provide a secure run with ample cover for them to hide in if they feel threatened.

Unfortunately our piggies are indoor piggies, we live in a flat with a graveled garden.
So i let them out as much as possible and roam the flat.
I don't want them to get overweight or board, so looking for things to do to keep my boys happy and healthy.

If you can buy a run or corner of a section of a room, or even have a room or area for them to run about in then they will be fine. I have a fold up puppy pen and also a section on my bedroom i corner off and they run about having a great time. I put down some fleece blankets...a tunnel...willow balls and they have great fun :)
But as stated please dont use harness' foe piggies. :)

I'm sure our piggies now run the flat, and us lol, i swear they get fed better than us!
We go a tube, cardboard houses, toys, and my bf is always looking to build new stuff for them to run through and play with.

Sounds like you have it covered, what you're doing is great for your piggies, variety is the spice of life for floor time especially for piggies..

haha i know what you mean. If i have not much in i go without...but if i'm low on veggies i'm strait on a bus down to the shops :P i also returned a top i bought for myself the other day as i saw some piggie things on the internet so returned the top so i could afford the piggie things haha.

Harnesses for piggies are a definite no. Trading standards should be informed of anyone trying to sell them for guinea pigs, it dangerous.
