My piggy Minnie had an abscess surgically removed from her neck yestarday. It was a abscess attached to the lymph node. They told me surgery went well and I got her eating as soon as we got home. She is still a bit scared but slowly getting back to her normal self. I didn't feel her neck last night much because I did not want to hurt her. This morning I felt it and I feel a small lump in her neck. I'm not sure if this is just swelling, scar tissue, the lymph node, or the abscess. I was told that the surgery was to remove the abscess, but could it refill? Or come back? Is that something that usually happens? I thought the whole point of having the surgery and not lancing and draining was so that it could not refill... I'm very confused and scared. I'm hesitant to go back to the vet if I am just being paranoid (which I always am). Should I take her back to the vet?

Give the vet a ring and explain what is going on, having a follow up appointment may be a good idea.

I would call the vet and let them know. It could just be swelling, but it's better to let the vet decide!

I agree - contact the vet, please!

Glad to hear that you have your girl back in at the vets. Please let us know how it goes. Sending hugs for you and healing wheeks from Treacle, Casper and Junior :) x
