I’m looking for a new friend for my guinea pig Nutter Butter. I’m trying to look for Guinea pig shelter in my area but I don’t seem to be finding many good results. If all else all else fails, I’ll have to resort to visiting a local pet shop. Got any places you can suggest? I’ve heard certain shelters can set up Guinea Pig dating and I’m eager to try that out.

This link might help you (hopefully I’ve linked in the right one) Guinea Lynx :: US Guinea Pig Rescue and Shelter Organizations

If you have to get a piggy from pet shop, then you will need to have a plan b in case the piggies aren’t compatible and bonding fails and that will be having separate cages so the two of them live separately but side by side for lifelong through the bar interaction.

This is the bonding procedure guide should you decide to get a pet shop piggy. It tells you how to carry out a bonding.
If you do get a pet shop piggy then you will need to confirm the sex of the new piggy yourself before introducing to your piggy. Also, the new piggy will need to be quarantined in a separate cage and ideally in another room for two weeks and vet checked to ensure the new piggy is healthy and doesn’t pass any illnesses on to your piggy.

Good luck.
Hope you can find a rescue near enough to travel to.
If you have to go to a pet shop look for one that really knows and cares for the animals.
In the end Nutter Butter’s need for a companion is paramount and all piggies deserve a loving home
