My guinea pig was diagnosed with mites 3 weeks ago and I took him to the vets. He has received medication and I admistered it to him by shot last week.

However, since then, he doesn't want to be touched or cuddled. He will follow us and seems to enjoy it. But he continues to itch and being so agitated when being touched is annoying to us owners. We want to cuddle him! He also chattered his teeth twice at me and it just started yesterday.

Any suggestions?
 
If it is mites then he needs thhree shots; (7-10 days apart); before he will feel better. Also a bath to get rid of detritus ( dying mite stuff) will help......johnsons baby shampoo is all *** is needed but you oculd also use Johsons small animal insecticidal instead for that added oomph

Extra Vit C will also do no harm atm to boost his immne system.

My vet has given me 3 shots and it is to be given every 2 weeks. I could try a bath..

I am giving him oranges and bell peppers for vitamin C.
