He has been to the vet today and he came home tonight the vet said he will be okay over night while I make the decision on whether to put him to sleep or surgery

He really does need to see the vet again now. Like has already been said, you can get the number of your nearest emergency vet from your own vets answering machine.

A Guinea pig unable to wee is a medical emergency as the stone could have become lodged in his urethra :(

@VHayleyA1995 There's always access to emergency vets. If you ring your regular vet and they're closed the emergency vet number will be on their telephone message.

If he is unable to pee then he needs to see a vet immediately.

He is super thirsty so I gave him water. As the vet said to keep his fluids up?. So confused

If he is very thirsty, his bladder is not blocked (as that is so painful that he would be off his food very quickly), he is very dehydrated. Please let him drink as much as he wants. Get some dioralyte (UK) /pedialyte (US) from the pharmacy as use as instructed on the packet to help rehydrate him as quickly as possible. He should be able to pee once he is rehydrated.

He has a bladder stone. When he was under gas the vet did push it further in so he would be more comfortable during the night. He is struggling to pee. But has don't a little over night.

The vet did say it was lodged in his urethra when he was under gas the vet could feel it and pushed it back into the bladder. She gave him pain meds and antibiotics for the night. And tomorrow/today he is having surgery. I think he has peed a small amount

Fingers crossed all went well, please let us know how he got on.

Surgery went okay he was recovery slowly and they thought he was going to pull through. He ended up having a fit then I receved another phone call asking for my permission to put him to sleep. He went down hill quickly.
It saddens me, but I know he is in a better place not suffering and that I did everything I could.

Oh so sorry for your loss! It's always sad when you can't say a proper goodbye. He knew he was loved and he is out of pain and playing zoomies and popcorning at the Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry to hear of your loss! We lost a piggie the same way, he underwent the same surgery and managed to pull through after the anaesthetic but went downhill quickly a couple of hours later. At least you know you did everything you could!

I am so sorry for your loss, especially under such circumstances.
It leaves you reeling as there was no chance to prepare for the loss.
It is such a hard decision to have had to make.
Take care of yourself and allow yourself to grieve for your beloved boy

I’m so sorry that despite everything you had to make the decision to let your beloved boy go. Huge hugs x

Thank you all. - I am starting to be conceded about his brother he left behind.
He must be so lonely without him.
Its still so soon. But I am thinking of adopting another piggy.
What is every ones thoughts?

It is so good of you to put your boy’s needs first while you are still grieving.
Yes - he will need piggy companionship.
If you are close enough to one of the rescues that does boar dating that would be a good start. Another option would be neutering and then you have the option of sows as well as a boar.
Whatever you decide has to be the best for you and your boy.

Huge hugs, it's always such a hard decision. In terms of getting a new piggy be guided by his companion who has been left behind. Although they will be lonely, if they are coping ok and eating, pooping, weeing and drinking fine then you can rest a bit easy and give yourself time to grieve and consider your options. If he shows less interest in food etc then you need to act quickly for his sake.
