My boys are both 2 and a half, assumed to be brothers, never had a fight. Except paprika just screams at the top of his lungs whenever pepper gets close to him and I don't know why or how to stop it. I figure paprika might like his space but pepper loves to lay next to his brother so paprika keeps waking me up by yelling in the middle of the night. Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought cbd would help but Idk which one to try. I also think paprika is just generally an anxious pig. he's definitely the submissive one and he needs to be covered in a blanket when he's out of the cage or he cries. kind of at my wits end because they live in my bedroom.

Sounds like normal communication to me. Can you move them to another room? I have a piggy called Pepper too. He is a bit of a high pitched squealer when Percy gets too close to him.

Please don’t use Cbd for anything like this.

How big is their cage?
Do all hides have two exits?
Is there two of every item in the cage?
Is Paprika’s weight stable?
they have 16 sqft, yes, yes, and he's gaining weight from having teeth problems get fixed. but pepper wasn't mean to him when he was eating funny besides taking the food he didn't eat. He's done this for like a year though and it's ramped up a lot in the past 2 weeks. I just didn't know if being this high strung was normal or needed help so he didn't make himself sick more than me wanting sleep. like being stressed can make them die I've heard so I figured constant low level stress from no where wasn't good either

lol we have a cat that I assume will eat them even if he acts scared of them. their little lungs are so loud. pepper's quality of life is okay though? like crying like that doesn't seem to cause medical issues via the stress? that's what I'm more worried about than my sleep but I wrote the post when I was tired so that's what came through

If their relationship is definitely ok and his health is ok, then it may just be that he is a very vocal piggy

Some piggies are just very vocal, and if he is otherwise healthy, a good weight, etc then it is nothing to worry about.
I find lots of open hides can help in these situations, - tunnels, fleece forests, etc so no piggy can ever feel trapped or cornered, but it sounds more like a clearly submissive piggy letting the other one know he isn't a threat.

My Ella shouts the house down when a piggy accidently bangs in to her. If Paprika's weight is stable, he's able to eat, sleep and rest with with no issues and has no health problems, I wouldn't worry. Could you move them to another room if he is waking you up at night?

Sorry all I wrote the post when I was tired so it seemed focused on that but I was more worried he was gonna stress himself out to the point of sickness. but since y'all say it's just normal I'll just deal with it. we have a cat so they stay with me
