As the summer and lovely weather is starting to appear I thought it would be a good time to spread my piggies ashes. Henry was a big boar who I lost last year really suddenly. I've not felt right before now to want to scatter them. Where have people scattered their lost piggles ashes? I want to find a nice spot :) On a really warm day! :D

When my piggies have passed over I've had them cremated, they are kept in various locations around my home. Lily and Sherbet ( my first 2 girls ) are on my dressing table next to my bed. I will often talk to them if i'm feeling down.

I've kept onto them for a while, still not sure if I want to scatter them :( I miss him :( so it's nice to have them there x

If youre not sure wait awhile you could end up regretting it. They become such a large part of your life I know I couldn't do it - even now. xx

You can get jewellery where a tiny amount of ash is kept inside. I think if you look up cremation jewellery or prayer box pendant (eg on amazon or ebay) you might come up with something. That way you could scatter most when you are ready but keep a little close to you too ...

Just another thought / option.

xx

Love that idea! Thankyou. I knew they could do it with human ashes, don't know why I thought animals would be different! DERRRR.
He was such a special piggie, a little special needs. I rescued him from one of those horrible reptile auction thingys :( eurgh. He was 4 when I lost him. The vet said he had never seen in a piggie, but he had cushings disease. Had problems throughout his life too, I imagine interbreeding with those places :( Something like that would be fab, then he'll always be with me xx

So true, thankyou :) Just looking at them now on my bedside drawers. In a little whicker pouch with some little flowers on x>>

First of all, I must say that it is SO SWEET of you to get your piggies cremated. That really touched me, I think it's so great that people care so much about pigs to the extent they do that. You actually brought tears to my eyes, Ilovemypigs, for being so thoughtfull and caring for your animals. : )

I've never had the option of cremating my pigs? Maybe that's weird? They've either died at home and had to be buried AsAP or they've been put down at the vets and I've been given the body back, but no option of cremation?

As CandyFloss said, you can get jewellery that will hold a small amount of ashes! If that idea appeals to you you could get something called a 'prayer wheel' which you could put a small amount of ashes into..

Allthough maybe.. dont get *too* carried away. You're probably going to have alot of piggies throughout your life, and maybe once they're gone you wont be able to keep track of all their remains?
I dont mean to be horrible, but once they're gone, they live on in your mind and your heart, and dont need to be kept alive within ashes or fancy burial grounds. Your love for them within your heart will be eternal, as it is. : )

Aww thankyou :) When Henry died at the vets I wasn't given an option for cremation. I asked for his body back, carried it all the way home in his carrier sobbing my heart out! A blubbering 19 year old ha walking down the street! My mums best friend works at a pet cremation place, thankfully. In the past I've burried animals in my garden and such. I know what you mean about not getting too carried away! I'll always have piggies and that will end up being a lot of jewellery. I have a tree planted in my garden from when my dad passed away, I might scatter them under there, or at his grave :) or! on a long walk in the sun with my dogs, so he can be free. I don't like the though of his ashes cooped up! Does that sound odd? x

I was going to say that, there are also companies that will set ashes into pendants. Or turn them into diamonds - but thats super expensive! If I were rich my dog would be a diamond, but at the moment she sits in a scatterbox in my living room.

I think its nice to keep them close! Googling pet cremation glass, pendants and jewellry will also give you options.

If you aren't sure you want to scatter them, I was watching an animal program on television and the lady on it lost her cat.
She had him cremated and then the ashes put inside of a little holder inside of a teddy bear. Then whenever she felt down and missed her pet she'd just hug it and feel much better.

It's what I plan to do when I lose my boys.
