Hi I just wanted some advice . I have noticed sometimes when my tango is walking around the cage that her back leg gives way . Then she is perfectly fine and walks around as normal. Should this be a concern

If she is actually losing her balance and her leg is not holding her weight, then yes, she needs to see a vet

It’s hard to tell really I think sometimes she is walking and it buckles then she gets up and is fine and does zoomies as normal. I try to give them both veggies that don’t contain large amounts of calcium

If you have any concerns you should see a vet. We can’t know from a written description what might actually be happening, unless you can catch it on video and upload to YouTube and then post a link to it here. Even then, we cant make a diagnosis

Too much calcium can lead to bladder stones, and is probably nothing to do with a potential leg injury

Are you sure it’s not just her popcorning?

I will be booking an appointment at the vet sometime after new year to get there first nail clipping. I could maybe mention it then . I just don’t want to have a expensive vet bill. I’ll keep an eye on things

All we can say is to have her seen by a vet if you have any concerns.

Vet fees can be expensive and as such its advisable to set up a separate vet fund bank account and save into it regularly. It can really be helpful to have that money set aside so any medical issue can be dealt with quickly without worrying where the money is going to come from.

Hi!

Please have your piggy vet checked if you have any concerns. We cannot tell you whether something is wrong or not and what could be the cause just based on your report sight unseen and we can most definitely not replace a hands-on vet examination (not that we are qualified to do this).

It may be a neurological issue but only a thorough hands-on vet examination will be able to tell you what is actually going on. Please do not treat on spec; you can make things worse instead of better if you cause imbalances where there have been none before. I highly doubt that lack of calcium is an issue.

Vet cost is unfortunately by far the largest budget post in any pet's life and you need to save up for it or get insurance right from the start as part of their weekly or monthly normal living cost. there are sadly no cheap pets.
