Hi! I just wanted to post this and talk about my Guinea pig’s behaviour because I find her so funnily strange and wondered if any one else has had a Guinea pig like this.

Her Name is Daisy, I got her about 5 months ago and she is about 7 months old. I got her from a Guinea pig breeder to keep my other Guinea pig, Rosie, company. When they first met, they were fine so I assumed they had made friends, slowly I started noticing they weren’t getting along and Rosie kept having marks on her. When I had them out one time Daisy started teeth chattering and bit Rosie, So I separated them. Since then Daisy has been on her own because she has bit 2 Guinea pigs including Rosie. She had a house in her cage, but she kept jumping on top of the house, and couldn’t stand going inside it. So I bought her a new house because maybe the first one was too small for her and she wanted more space. Yet when I put her new cage in her house, she wheeked all night and wouldn’t go inside of it. After a few days she got over it, and started going inside. Until she managed to jump on top of this one😂 she now hates going inside the new house and only likes to sleep on top of it. So I put her a little fleece so it’s comfy for her to lie on, she loves it. After a few days I took it off to wash it and gave her a new fleece bed (in picture one), which she also hated at the beginning lol. As you can see, she now loves it, but the first day I put it in, she wheeked all day, and I could tell she wanted her other fleece😂.
I’ve convinced myself she’s just a odd Guinea pig, since none of my other guineas are like this. She is also sooo friendly with humans, she loves to lie on you, and lick you all the time. It just seems to be other Guinea pigs she doesn’t like. Has anyone else had a Guinea pig like this?

She is certainly a little character 😆 I think there is a friend somewhere out there for her, have you thought about taking her bonding at a rescue so she could choose her own friend?

Are Daisy and Rosie living next to each other? Even if they can’t live together, they still need company and living as neighbours is the next best thing.

Sounds like you are describing Norman my lovely piggy baby 😆 he loves to climb on his things too i but a Blanket over the corner of there cage as a hidey he now uses it as a hammock and with bonding so happy I found the perfect friend for him Barnabas is a bit older then him and a lot of the time he won’t put up with his shenanigans but still plays with him 🥰

and Norman is the single most human loving piggie out there but also the most Sassy 💚03967BE9-8976-4627-99DF-34F8FB2DAE42.webp

Some very human orientated piggies have lost the ability to interact with other guinea pigs or were never socialised enough and separated to early to learn how to deal with other piggies. The bites are defensive, motivated by her being totally afraid of other piggies in her space; we call this behaviour very fear-aggressive.

Hey! Yes Rosie now has a new roomie called Angel. Daisy still lives alone but she is above the other guinea’s in my room, so she can always hear them but just doesn’t want to be friends with them as she’s bit both of them!☺️

Please house Daisy next to Rosie and friend. Living as neighbours is the next best thing. She can still get the interaction she needs through the divider. Their communication is about more than sounds and sight - the latter of which B isn’t B great anyway.

Your Norman looks a little bit like my Daisy😂😂 maybe they’re abit the same because their the same breed?

When I had two pairs they were house like this so they could interact through the bars. Fuzzy brown Zara was the feisty problem and had terrified glossy black George but they were fine being near each other thus. Good fences make good neighbours - and they liked to watch what the others were doing. Your piggy sounds a proper personality - she's ended up being a real people-pig! But I'm sure she'd benefit from being able to see her neighbours while still feeling secure in her own space x
