Hi I'm new to this site but wanting some advice I have three baby sows all from different places one is huge compared to the others and very moody puffing herself up chatting teeth nudging & chasing the other piggies I have taken her out at the moment to let the other two settle I had her vet checked on Friday I was sure she was pregnant but the vet couldn't feel anything then today she has been crawling on her tummy slot which isn't like her she is usually full of beans any suggestions

Sorry, I'm a newbie too so can't offer much advice. One thing I will mention though is was the vet qualified in small pets? Most vets are great with cats and dogs but not very experienced when it comes to piggies. My vets is fantastic for our dog, but when I rang them to ask about piggies were honest enough to say that although all the vets have seen them, none of them hold any certificates in small or exotic animal care and they recommended another vet who specialises in small animals. Might be worth checking that they are a vet with piggie know-how and if not taking her for a second opinion. There is a link at the top which says 'vet locator' which should point you in the right direction if you need to find a new vet. Hope things settle down for you all soon!

She did tell me that a week earlier she had told a owner that her rabbit wasting pregnant and the very next day the rabbit gave birth so u could be right thank u

She sounds like she is dominant. You may find these guides here helpful in understanding what is going on:
Sow Behaviour
Illustrated Bonding Behaviours And Dynamics
" Starter Kit" Of Information Threads For New Owners

I would recommend to make sure that you have a bowl for each piggy (if necessary a body length apart) and that you serve veg and pellets in smaller portions 2-3 times a day, so they can be eaten in one go and none of the girls is missing out. Unlimited hay should make up to 80% of the daily food intake, so they are not going hungry in the meatime!

Since we have members from all over the worlsd, we find it very helpful if you please added your country, state/province or UK county to your details, so we can tailor any advice to what is really available and doable where you are straight away instead of keeping it general. Click on your username on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location. Thank you!

She is an aby.
Here are our illustrated breeds and colour guides. The breeds and pregnancy sections are visible only to our registered members, as we are a non-breeding forum. You can find lots of information at the top of our various Care sections, but are very welcome to ask any questions you may have in there. We will answer them all.
