guinea pig bit by rabbit

hello, i was over at my friends and her male guinea pig was attacked by her rabbit. she takes vary good care of her animals so I was very surprised to the guinea pigs bites in such bad condition. i don't know if i should let her continue to just give baths and put bactine on it but i also want to just want to adopt him and take him to the vet.





help! what can i do!

Firstly, it looks nasty. I would recommend a vets visit, so they can clean it out properly with Salian and dress it accordingly. The piggy shouldn't be with the rabbit and housed separately for these reason of such attacks. Don't get me wrong there are a few that can live happily together but it's not recommended.

In the last photo, the piggy seems to be running around outside and near glittered pots. I would be keeping the piggy away From things like that, wouldn't want any of the glitter to get into the wounds.
If you took the piggy tooth event, could you not kind of look after it during recovery and sort of adopt him?

Some more experienced owners may have different advice of course.

Those wounds look nasty The guinea pig may need a course of antibiotics to prevent infection so a vet visit is recommended.

Oh well done. I hope his vet bill wont be too expensive for you, but you have done the right thing - he cant stay with a rabbit who bites him Let us know how he gets on. I hope to see pictures of him without those horrible wounds soon. Piggies can go downhill fast and can get infections from wounds easily
