Hi,
i’ve had my two guineas for about 2 years now, both are lovely piggies and i have never had any issues before. On Thursday however when i brought them out if their cage for floor time they began fighting which i have never witnessed before. silly, silly me intervened which i understand was not the right approach but in the spur of the moment i panicked. when i put my hand in one piggy clung onto my thumb and was laying on his back knawing into it, i had to pull him off. my thumb immediately started to swell and bled a lot. it’s been two days now and my thumb is still very swollen and painful. i cant bend it properly either. is it possible for such a small guinea pig to break or fracture a bone? or is that impossible. i have a bite on either side of my thumb.its been keeping me awake at night for the past two nights with the pain and i’m unsure what to do.
piggys have returned to their normal happy selves, and are enjoying some cabbage on the floor again this evening, which is a positive in it all!
