Guinea pig biting

I have two 7 year old guinea pigs called Daisy and Hazel. Recently, Daisy has really started biting me, like really clamping down on my finger and trying to tear it off. She's ok in the hutch, she'll lick me then, but when I pick her up she will just bite my finger. She has never done this before, not even if she wants the toilet, and I just want to know what's up with her.
 
Can someone help? I just want her to be happy. I don't know why she is suddenly biting me
 
It could possibly be a sign that she is feeling uncomfortable when handled. A visit to the vet to get her checked over would probably be a good idea. 7 years is a good age for a piggy though!
 
I was thinking it might be the cats. We got.two new cats 3 weeks ago. But they weren't in the room when I was cuddling her. I took her to the vets last week and they said she was fine.
 
Any sudden change in behaviour is cause for concern. Why were you at the vets last week with her?
 
She had mites but they have cleared up and her fur has started to grow back
 
She is fine in herself. Eating drinking and being nice to me when in the hutch. It's just when I pick her up for cuddles.

What have the Mites been treated with? Burrowing mites can make a piggy very sore and irritable and hating to be handled.

She could be in pain or have mites, I think a visit to the vet would be good.
 
I'll take her to the vet but I'm sure she hasn't got them anymore. The vet told me that if the fur grew back and the area looked better then they were gone
 
Update: I asked my parents. We have figured out that she only bites me when the cats are about. I picked her up today and covered her up while the cats were about and after she was licking me and back to her usual self. Thanks for the help anyway people.
