Hi everyone
When getting my guinea pig out of his cage recently, I have seen that his stomach looks very extended. He is 2 in September so not very old, and he doesn’t seem bothered by it. He also gets crusts on his lip regularly which are light yellow in colour, but again, these never seem to bother him, and even after removing things such as Apple and tomato from his diet he still gets them, whilst my other boar has never struggled with either of these problems.
Whilst I know bloat is a common problem, I have never come across it myself, but from the way he looks I am guessing that is what it is.
I’m just wondering whether this could possibly be serious and whether he needs to go to the vet ASAP.

Hi I can’t really advise other than bloat is extremely painful and needs to be seen by a vet as an emergency. Please get him seen ASAP.

Hi! any bloat needs to be vet checked promptly as it can kill.
Bloat, Gi Stasis ( No Gut Movement) And Not Eating

@Nance How much does he weigh? He has a very similar shape to my Podrick, who is a porty 1350g. So it could just be his shape.

But if you've noticed a suddent change in shape, or his behaviour has changed then it's always best to visit to vet to rule out bloat as it can be life threatening.
