Hi,
I am going on holiday soon and will have to send our two adorable guinea pigs to their holiday home.
They have been away once before, but that was for indoor care as we kept them in over their first winter (as we only got them in October)
Unfortunately we still don't know anyone locally who could help with them now that they live outside, so I need to find a safe place where they will be properly cared for.
I have found a place quite local in Sandhurst (Dee's Pets) with outdoor hutches (sheltered in a shed)
Just wondered if there's anywhere else anyone can recommend?

Hi Pixachu, I've just tried to send you a pm but unfortunately I don't think you have enough posts to be able to receive it. I'm afraid I don't know of anyone I could personally recommend in your area, but it might be worth asking at your local vet surgery as they sometimes have contacts. I would highly recommend going to meet the person to see their set up (if possible), and check things like whether they have a local knowledge piggy vet etc. There are some very good piggy boarding establishments out there, but also some dire ones so it's worth ringing around. In addition to running East Peckham GP Rescue I also offer holiday boarding, but I suspect we are a little bit too far out to be able to help you, (just the other side of Tunbridge Wells). However, if you get stuck and would like to give me a call for a chat you can find my details on our website at www.holidayhutches.co.uk

Thanks. I'm hoping to not have to travel too far. This local one is an established family pet shop (been there 30 years!) and they have pics of the hutches set up etc online, which looks clean and well mainained. I will drop by and have a look at what it's like.

@Pixachu - Once you get up to 50 posts you will be able to pm..

Fab, lets hope it lives up to expectation - it's great when you have somewhere good nearby :)

I will have to do some more posting :)
I hope this place is ok - I would prefer to spend only 10-15 minutes driving them anywhere, but to have experienced kind carers & safe secure environment are the most important things.
We are going abroad, so they will be there about 10 days altogether.
I am sure they will be sulking by the time we pick them up (we'll get the silent treatment!)
