Hi there,

I have just decided to go for it and open my own guinea pig/rabbit boarding business! I am currently taking bookings for Easter and beyond!

I am so happy after all the will I, won't I that I have finally taken the plunge and doing something that I love!

I can be found on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/cavydaysholidays

Thanks, Louise

To avoid trouble please make sure you are registered as a bussiness and have permission to operate this from your home( apply to the council for permission via planning department), the council will need to come round and see what you are doing, rubbish will not be able to be put in household waste bins and not taken down the tip either,
highways will come out and make sure parking and turning will not be a problem,
also neighbours will be informed and asked if they have any objections.

Hi Louise, good luck! You'll find it really hard work but very rewarding!

We set up our own boarding (www.vipiggies.co.uk) last Summer, and it's gone from strength to strength....we already have 9 cages booked for one of the weeks in July! Eeeek!

Anyway, there are loads of people on this forum offering boarding, most of them with many more years experience than me, but if I can offer any advice, please feel free to contact me.

All the best, Tracey x

Thank you both for your comments I appreciate them!

I have been involved in a small business previously so have been registered before, completing self assessments etc. I'm also working closely with the animal welfare officer at ou local council to make sure I get everything right from the outset :)

Thank you Teejay for the encouragement, any helpful hints or tips would be greatly appreciated!
