Hi,
Does anyone know of anyone who offers a bonding service in the Kent area?
I had 4 pigs that I was hoping to introduce together 3 years ago but 2 of the sows didn't get on so kept them as 2 separate pairs (one sow/sow, one n boar/sow).
A few weeks ago my eldest sow passed so we tried to get them together again, after a 2 year break in attempts, but that did not work and will not work so will not try that again.
I recently rehomed a single sow to partner up with my lone sow and, after a week of them being separated by bars, introduced them. Initial signs seemed good in neutral space, some teeth chattering and chasing but short lived and interspersed with eating. After 3 hours we moved them into their cleaned cage, all was okay for about half an hour after which the new, submissive sow yawned at my existing, dominant sow and they scrapped. I'm not sure if they need more time in the neutral space, if I should try reintroducing again or if it is a lost cause and my existing pig may need to be an only pig next to other pigs.
I've looked for a guinea pig bonding service in the Kent area so that someone more experienced than me can see if there is potential there or if there is no hope but with no luck. Does anyone know of any rescues or individuals who offer this service?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

There is no official bonding service for privately owned guinea pigs anywhere.
Rescue bonding/dating happens only as part of the adoption process in order to achieve a personality match.

Oh really, that's such a shame. 2 of the 4 are adopted from rescue centres, including my new girl, but neither offer bonding. The other two were private adoptions as the rspca centre I adopted one from advised to do as they hardly ever get girls in so could be waiting years for a friend!

I don’t know of any private bonding service for guinea pigs. Sorry.
