. Does anyone know why my guinea pig is making these noises when she is sleeping. Is it something to with her breathing or is it nothing to worry about. ?

You say it's when she's sleeping? Is it a new thing you have noticed and are there any other signs such as being less active, eating less, drinking less or smaller/less frequent poops? If you hold her near your ear how does her breathing sound?

Yes it is a new thing , my guinea pig is 4 years old and I have never heard her doing this noise before but for the past week she has been doing it when she is sleeping or lying down. She is eating and drinking fine and she is very active. When I put my ear near her, her breathing sounds loud.

This is what my Guinean pig sounds like when she is breathing and I put my ear close to her

Please do get her to a vet asap as it could be a respiratory infection. When caught early enough and treated promptly piggies can respond quickly but it is unfortunately one of those conditions that can cause them to deteriorate very quickly. Please switch from weighing weekly to daily to monitor food intake

Older piggies can snore when their narrow airways relax during sleep. I would recommend to have her vet checked and to disguss the advisability of nebulising etc. with them. It is not recommended in all cases.
