Guinea-Pig Breeds

I'm just curious, what breed of guinea-pigs does everyone have?

At the minute I have three abby and peruvian crosses (at least thats what we believe they are as one of them we have bred with a short-haired sow and he gave us an abby and a peruvian baby. The other five being short-haired like their mother)

I also have two short-haired guinea-pigs.

I have currently a real mix of assorted rescue piggies:
- 2 teddies
- 2 abys
- 3 smooth piggies
- 3 crested piggies
- 3 coronets
- 3 perus
- 3 longhair crosses (one aby, one peru and one coronet/smooth)

I guess mine are both aby/per crosses, Dutch more aby and Hodge more peru!

Awww, thats so gorgeous! :') I love abby's. My first guinea-pig was a black and white abby. She was an amazing escapologist and lived up to 8. Aww... I miss her....

8 good years I imagine! Mine are only 3 months and I worry how upset I will be when they pass away! There is something about piggies that makes you fall hard and fast in love with them!

Just in case you haven't read the forum rules, discussing/mentioning intentional breeding here is not encouraged.

Anyway, I have 2 x Texels, 2 x Swiss, 5 x Aby x Peruvians, 2 x Rex, 1 x smooth short haired. They're all random colourings really, one of the Texels has a perfect split face, right down the middle which is very cute.

2 x Smooth coated piggies. Look to have tri in their genes but are not tricolour as are only one colour
