Hello I'm new to this forum and I need little bit of help deciding on a cage. My girl guinea pigs (I have two) are turning two and I wanted to get them a c&c cage since they are living in a pretty small cage right now.
My two options are the standard open top 2x4 cage or the deluxe open top 2x4 with wide loft cage. I was going to just get the deluxe one because it looked like more fun but then I thought about when they get older, and might not be able to go up the ramp anymore. So please tell me what you think because I love my pigs dearly and want the best for them.

You can always take the loft off if they struggle when older. If I could cope with a loft in my cage would have one.Two is still young so they have loads of time to have fun with it.
I didn't know you could remove the loft from it thanks for letting me know

i prefer cages on all one level myself. and ramps eat into the floor space. so unless the loft is very big (at least 2x2 grids) then i'd stick with the standard cage :)

You can do what I do, sometimes I add a loft and sometimes I don't. I like to change the layout of the C&C to help stimulate the piggies. They always like to explore after each cage cleaning.

Con to a loft: It is hard to reach underneath the loft to spot clean.
