Hi! I'm new to this forum and have never owned guinea pigs before. Obviously i have lots of questions which this forum already have answered many.

I would like to own a pair of guinea pigs, i think a trio or more would be too much for me to handle straight away.
I really want to do a DIY cage as these seem to look nicer and give more space. I like the idea of having an open top.

I want a cage that is levitated, either on a storage cupboard or something similar so that its easy to access them and my dog (small) won't bother them. My mom like things to be neat and tidy so i don't want something thats ugly. and also the levitated cage i could keep supplies underneath so they don't take up lots of space.
C&C cages are okay but i think i would prefer the clear front DIY type?

Do you have any ideas or links?
Any tips on how to make a C&C cage look nice and pretty, i saw a video where the person had all the same fleece colours and decorations and it looked very nice!

EDIT or do you know any places i can buy cages from?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.:wel:
Why don't you get a set of cupboard and turn the front doors , keep the frame door , cut out the wood bit and place with wire and then in side design with a ladder etc
Just an idea
And it will be neat and tidy for your mum,

Mine is homemade totally solid, I tried using fleece at the weekend but couldn't get on with it more trouble than it was worth my piggies were not impressed either, so I'm back to basics with mine I Hoover every day anyway and not a tremendous amount falls out where my girls at the bottom are hope this helps. Good luck in whatever you decide. image.webp
