If you saw my introduction then you saw I'm new to the guinea pig world and only had a small store bought cage for them...

But I'm so excited because my mom and I are going to target to get the grid things I was told about as well as fleece.. I'm also going to try my hand at sewing fleece and making things..

So wish me luck! [emoji5]️[emoji5]️[emoji5]️

Good luck! Definitely bigger is better. Since moved from temp cage to c and c I've seen laps popcorningg happy wheeks and all sorts!

Correx is rigid plastic that you use a the base of your cage m Mine are on laminated floor in their own room so I have a ground sheet then towels then fleece with litter trays in .It can also be called corotherm.

Well today didn't work out.. I couldn't find the grids and connectors any where and no where near me sales coroplast.. Tomorrow I'm gonna call around to office max and Office Depot to see if they have any that would be guinea safe, as well as calling to see if there is any sign stores near me. Thank you for the help!

You can order grids from walmart.com!

hello! i'm in the US as well and the only place i have found the grids actually in the store was Meijer everywhere else they only sell them online. Good luck with your cage i switched to c&c cages a couple months ago and my piggies love it and so do i! so fun to watch them run around and play. you will see a big difference in how happy they are. welcome to the forum :D

Nice to see the site being invaded by our American cousins whilst the UK is tucked up in bed! :)) good job I'm on nights to keep the Brit flag flying! :))

i'm glad people will be awake in my more alert hours, however i have insomnia so i am up when everyone is, it works out for this yankee :P:xd:

It's currently just after 4am in the UK, I finish my night duty at 6, then have an hours drive home!

sounds like a lot to do! the night owl of the forum . get some sleep for me!

I will do from 7ish, this is my last night duty this week, I now have 3 days off when I finish.

@Ayla I'm such a night owl! I have to take medicine in order to sleep, but half the time I forget to take it because I'm too busy not sleeping!

understandable! i haven't gotten any medication because the only people who know i literally don't sleep at all are my friends and of course the guinea pig forum! i am excited for you for your c&c cage you're going to love watching your piggies feel happy and popcorn around:))

I found these c and c cages online and was wondering if they were a good idea... I was possibly thinking the dark blue jumbo for the boys and the pale yellow XL for the baby girls.. I know they are quite pricey but I started saving up for their cages knowing I would end up spending quite a bit... Plus I know I'm going to end up decorations them for each holiday and season like I do with my hamster cages.. So do you think these would be okay?

Adding on... Again, sorry [emoji4] another thing I like about these is I think that if I wanted to add at least one other guinea to each cage then they would have plenty of room!

i love that website and have gotten loads of things it's a great site! it would be more cost effective to buy the grids online from another site and then buy the coroplast base (the colored part) from them they come cut so you can fold them up it's great!

See I was thinking about that, but I'm afraid I'm going to have absolutely no idea how to set it up.. Was if easy for you?

yes! i am terrible at DIY things and i saw all these c&c cages just thinking "wow i wish i could do that" etc but i didn't use any connectors i got TONS of zip ties and zip tied it all together and its lovely20141012_234317.webp

Yours is awesome! I'm so excited to use the fleece. I went to a fabric store near me and saw all the Halloween and Christmas ones and it makes me want to try my hand a sewing things like on etsy!

thanks! fleece is awesome and i wish i knew about it when i had previous small animals it's such a lifesaver :yahoo:

it's no problem i am not doing much at 2:00 am. through out the months i've bought quite a few to make other things as well, if you buy the coroplast bases from that website then you dont need bottom grids so it will save you money with grids
