Hi, my eldest boar was chirping overnight, sounded just like a bird or a car alarm. We have a ‘guinea cam’ and videoed it on there, he did it for over ten minutes. My partner said they were bickering a bit before hand, is it anything to do with that?

My Bill chirps when Ted has stolen his favourite green bean sometimes. It could be the odd disagreement but does not seem like aggression, I wouldn’t worry too much x

They do like their green beans, perhaps it was that :))

No one really knows why they chirp. But it’s magical when you first witness it.

It was strange, honestly I thought a car alarm was going off. Suggesting it’s magical though, does that mean they do it for good reasons then? Because they were bickering I wondered if he did it for territorial reasons? I could hear his teeth chattering a little while he did it. The other boar was in the bedroom part of the hutch so they weren’t interacting at that point in time.

The only times I have heard chirping in one piggy all my other piggies have stayed still and seemed to be listening. It’s really not well understood but I’m not sure that it’s a distress signal.

No one is really sure what it means. Some pigs do it often, some never do.

My Rosie chirped the first night she was in her new cage. Freaked both me and her sister out. She chirped for about 10mins too then randomly stopped and she’s never done it since. :hmm:
