Hey all,

sorry for my spelling of this eye problem!
Basically my 2 and a half sow (spice:p) has formed conjunctivitis(sore redish lumps inside her eye whilst watering), we took her to the nearest vets which was vets4pets (theyre a rather good vets!) and the vet gave spice eye drops called 'trycil' -something along those lines.
So, we took spice in last friday and the vet said to give this a week put drops in each eye 3 times a day, and if nothing seems to happen, call back.
Well just this now ive noticed spicy's eye is rather cloudy and blood shot. Is this to do with the drops drawing out the infection or what?
I'm rather worried as I hope she isnt blind or anything!

I'm not sure if its also to do with her constantly scratching near her eye area, as everytime i put the drops in her eye, she tends to get her back feet to scratch it out!

It sounds like the infection has spread. I would see the vets again as soon as you can. She needs further treatment, but she is NOT going blind!

I suspect the medication ws Tiacil eye drops?

She may need something stronger in view of what you have described. Fucithalmic eye ointment is normally very efficient for all types of eye infections - although given that tiacil hasn;t produced the expected results the vet may opt for something else.

Bottom line however is please get her back to the vets.
