I have 2 piggies (Winnie and Piglet) that are 8 months. I got them from pets at home (I didn't know at the time why that was a bad idea unfortunately). At around 5 months old I noticed sneezing and then full blown wheezing from Winnie. I panicked and took them vets for pets and they only gave Winnie Baytril. And even though both were still sneezing after the course was done, they told me only to come in if they were not eating and drinking.

Now they're 9 months and it's the same thing they are still sneezing but Winnie has started wheezing. I am taking them to the vet today. But do you think they aren't taking it seriously enough? Or am I panicking too much?

I have considered their diets too they eat Timothy hay, burgees pellets, and fresh veg everyday.

What dose of Baytril were you given and for how long.
Sometimes a stubborn URI can take a longer course of antibiotics or a change of meds if it doesn't appear to be responding.
But if she had the problem 4 months ago and it has only just returned then chances are it is a totally separate issue.

It is great you are seeing a vet and their diet sounds fine, so hopefully it is just a matter of another course of meds being needed.

Winnie was given 0.5ml for 12 days.

I was worried because everything I've seen online was saying that they shouldn't still be sneezing after the course of antibiotics.

You said the initial course was given when they were 5 months old and now they are 9 months old.
Did the sneezing stop after the first course of Baytril and has now started again?
Or did the sneezing never stop?

If it stopped for 4 months and has just restarted then this is clearly a separate infection, and the treatment did work the first time.
If they have been sneezing for the past 4 months then it probably isn't an infection as they would have got worse, so you need to investigate other causes for the sneezing.

The sneezing never stopped. I did tell the vet but all they said was the lungs are fine but there's a bit of an infection in the trachea. Also they only treated Winnie the first time round saying that piglet didn't need it even though she was sneezing too
