@vickie bashford

Vickie has a croaky piggie, I'm sure she will be along in a moment to explain more and ask for help!

Vickie, please tell us which piggie it is, how old etc and any health problems he has, and try to explain the noise he is making, as well as when he is making it and if it is all the time :-) xx

Is it when he wheeks and is it a noise he has always made or only a recent development?

Is there any way you can record the sound for us please?

I have had pigs make a sort-of honking/croaking sound before sneezing, but it can also mean a chest infection and it is worth getting it checked out at the vets if it persists, and ask them to check the heart at the same time. If it's the sound I'm thinking of anyhow x

tigger just sounds like a frog and hes not doing it now so i think hes going to be ok hes just qweecking now lol x

Have you tried searching Youtube on guinea pig sounds, there's quite a few videos up there on the various noises they make, and seeing if you can match it up to one of the normal chuntering noises they make? I find that some pigs have a wider 'vocabulary' than others and can make funny sounds at times, but if it's the sound I think it might be, a honking/grunt sort of sound, it may mean a chest infection, requiring a visit to the vet. Please ask your vet to check the heart at the same time. xx

Best see a vet to get appropreate meds (frusol diaretic) ! Could be water in his lungs , which may lead to newmonia

Thank you for updating us about Tigger on https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...nea-pig-plz-thanks.130362/page-3#post-1794613
Tigger is very cute :wub:
If it is something that keeps happening from time to time though it may be worth checking out. Freddie, my boar, was making a similar noise a few weeks ago and it scared me, as I know from experience two piggies who have had heart and lung problems have also made this noise. However after a few hours he sneezed and I figured out in his case he just had something irritating his nose! :)
