Guinea Pig Cut Near Eye

Hi, I created this account to ask for advice about my piggy. I woke up this morning to find out that my two pigs had a fight earlier and one of them got a pretty bad looking cut right next to his eye. I’ve read other posts and I’ve made a saline solution and I’ll be applying it to the wound with a Q-tip once it’s ready. What should I do?

Ouch - that looks sore! Please see a vet as the wound looks quite deep and needs a bit closer inspection.
You'd rather not risk an abscess so close to the eye!

Please separate your boys. They won't go back together after this.

Definitely needs a vet check, especially so near the eye... that looks very sore!
Like @Wiebke says this looks deep enough it could cause an abscess if not properly treated... we've had an abscess caused by a bite wound and it was a nasty business!

Update : I did go see the vet and the vet told me to use a saline solution to treat it 3 times a day, and he’s feeling much better now as the wound has covered up. Thanks for everyone’s feedback!
