what do you guys feed your guinea pigs daily? And how much?

I feed my boys a handful each three times a day, morning , afternoon and evening.

They normally get things like Baby leaf salad , mixed leaf, cabbage, cucumber , peppers and little gem lettuce and occasionally they will have some kale and parsley, chicory, carrots and fennelI. Isthis everything I should be giving them?

Thanks guys :)

Have a read of this guide here Edible And Forbidden Veg And Fruit List With Vitamin C Grading
and have a read of the food section of the forum, there are lots of suggestions on daily diets

We feed ours this roughly

Morning:
Cucumber -1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Celery - 1 stick between 3 chopped up small
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 1.5 cm x 2cm chunks (twice)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves and a few other things occasionally

Search this section of the forum you have posted in you'll get lots of info on diet

My piggies have their muesli and ready grass topping up in a morning and evening, they usually have a small snack in the afternoon and then they have lots of veggies, hay and muesli in the evening.

For the fruit and veg, I have 3 cages of pigs and each cage gets:
- A LARGE handful of something like spinach, kale, spring greens, cabbage etc
- 2 whole carrots as they like to bite these and it's good for their teeth to nibble
- 3 celery sticks
- some cucumber
then they have fruit probably twice a week which can be anything (today blueberries!:D).
Then sometimes I'll throw in some lettuce, peppers, broccoli etc! Depending on what's in the fridge

According to some things I've read, I probably give them 'too much' veg but they've always had lots since they were babies and they're now 5 almost 6 years old and I've only recently had 2 of my babies pass away :soz:. So still have 8 very healthy pigs atm! I personally believe that lots of veg has meant that they've lived this long and hardly had any health problems :)

As long as you're feeding them plenty of good quality foods and hay then you don't need to worry! :)
