I had some questions of what veggies I could feed everyday and what I veggies I could do to change thing up. I already read the forum "Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets"

Coriander, lettuce (not iceberg), cucumber, celery, green beans and (bell) peppers can be fed daily. I’m sure the list tells you what can, if I remember correctly.

If I’m on the ball then the piggies get lettuce in the morning and coriander in the afternoon with the rest of their veg and pellets. I will occasionally swap the lettuce for a salad mix, and will sometimes give them Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, or cabbage on the rare occasions I have any in. They generally get what’s listed above every day, but I do sometimes not have everything in. Carrot and apples are a treat when I remember - which can be maximum 2-3 times a month.

Thank you for the info.

Don't stress about getting the perfect diet. The sample in the guide isn't perfect and I'm sure I remember Wiebke saying it has too much vitamin A in. Mix it up so they don't get fussy with any veggies. The only things mine tend to get everyday (assuming I have some in) are cucumber and bell pepper

Thank you for the help I am just really trying to understand their diets if I where to adopt.

Everyday mine get bell pepper, coriander, romain hearts and cucumber. If I decide to add anything else it is either dill/parsley but not in the same week or a bit of carrot now and again as a treat. Hay is the most important so I wouldn’t worry if everything isn’t perfect. It is the quantity you need to keep an eye on as I found that although my girls were getting the right veggies, they were actually being over fed. I found out the hard way with some soft stool, but thankfully all was fine with a veggie ban for two days lol..didn’t go down well with the girls. Also, I rarely tend to feed things like Brussels, kale, spinach etc as i think that is what contributed to the soft stool. Of course everyone is different with what they decide to do, but I feel a mixture of herbs is great as a treat

So for two guinea pigs how should I feed two cups or just one that is also one of my questions and how many pellets?

U can feed half a tomato per piggy but remember just as a treat don't give it everyday
I really don't plan on giving my piggies tomatoes I don't want to risk anything, but like you said maybe as a treat. If I where should I give the tomatoes with or without seeds?

😂😂😂😂😂omg I don't know how I posted this thread here I thought its a thread where a person asked should they give tomatoes to piggies😂😂😂😂it doesn't makes sense what I wrote in this thread😂😂 I am really sorry pellets are 2 tablespoons per piggy as much as I have read but I could be wrong too

Preferably I give mine without seeds

Lol I know I was confused for a moment, but I went along with it😂

Right now I am feeding Oxbow Pellets for young guinea pigs do you think they are any good?

Oxbow pellets are fine.
I’ve never bothered using the ones for young animals though - I’ve always just used the normal adult adults.

The young guinea pig pellets contain alfalfa. It’s fine for very young babies under to have alfalfa but alfalfa is high in calcium so you won’t want them having it for long.

When should I switch I brought the big bag

No, 1 tablespoon

Section 6 if this link gives details.

Pellets are basically junk food for piggies and should be kept limited at all times. Youngsters can have a little more pellets but it’s not good for teens or adults to have much

thank u i was feeding my piggies 2 tablespoons everyday as they just will turn 7 months on 5th and the babies are still 2 months and i mixed it up

So for two guinea pigs how should I feed two cups or just one that is also one of my questions and how many pellets?
I use to do cup sizes but I found that I wasn’t actually counting it properly. This is for one guinea pig that is five months (which mine are):
One tablespoon of pellets
One romain heart
One bell pepper
A small chunk of cucumber
A couple of strands of coriander

So for two piggies it will just be double the amount of one and it is one tablespoon of pellets per pig. That is what is recommended

That is the daily amount for one guinea pig. I think there is a diet guide on here that helps. Of course it can change depending on health issues, age etc. When my sow gave birth for three weeks she had unlimited pellets, alfalfa hay and some extra veggies.

My baby piggies are just over three weeks so they are eating solids happily now and are eating the veggies. They don’t get their own portion of veggies yet as they are still small and haven’t reached the 250g mark yet. They were born very small and underweight compared to the average size of a baby (70g-100g). They get two tablespoons of pellets up until they add 4 months and then it is one like mother and auntie.
