I have noticed a remarkable change over the last couple of weeks.

I have been incredibly busy finishing off the cage for our new furry family. I have been sewing fleece any chance I have, and doing the final alterations to the cage, making the run, all that sort of thing.

I noticed last week that I had lost a bit of weight as my jeans were getting rather tight and they have loosened up a bit. I haven't had the time or the inclination to graze naughties as I usually do - usually stress related. I have a lot of weight to lose - approximately a Kylie Minogue in weight - perhaps more!

Now we have the girls we have salad and lots of veggies in. we make them a lovely salad twice a day with fresh veggies and lettuce.

Well we may as well eat lots of veggies as well - they are in the fridge all the time now.

We only picked them up on Saturday but we have been eating very healthily since then - salad with every meal, and steamed or raw veggies.

My partner Charlie said tonight that they were a great addition to the family as they are very calming and good influences on the diet- we have spent hours watching them and tending to their every need - we have hardly watched the telly as they are far more entertaining.

I call them furry valium for their soothing effect - I have noticed I am a lot less stressed than usual. Charlie has multiple sclerosis, and the whole chronic illness thing can at times be extrememly stressful on everyone, including the kids.

I am so chilled that I haven't bitten my nails since Saturday, and I have done it for the last 42 years!

Blooming heck - these piggies have worked some miracles in our house this week, and they have only been here three days!

Has anyone else had a positive effect on their lifestyle from the piggies?

Yay for piggy healthly living. Yes, I eat loads more veg now and throw away a lot less, so it's good for my pocket too. I've also started using the living room (instead of spending all of my time sitting on my bed) so that I can watch my girls/ keep them company. I feel part of the herd now, and I like the feeling. :(|) Some nights I put down the veg and my pigs won't come out and eat it until I bring my dinner in- it's like we all eat together. Lovely.
Am so pleased you finally got your piggies. x

That's amazing, and I think a testament to our furry friends' very subtle healing and nurturing skills. Good for you, they must be really loving it with you!
