Hello,

I'm a photography student and leading up to my final exams now, for this i'll be making a video (more videography than photography rolleyes )

This video will be a guinea pig documentary, i want to point out interesting things about them etc. Also point out big things and make people aware of the cruelty and neglect these animals put up with.

If anyone has any ideas or something they'd like me to point out in the video that would be great, i'm making a bit of a mind map for scenes etc.

thanks (:

Maybe see if you can do some filming at a rescue, that would add the neglect angle.

I think for a rescue i may use Norman Gorman as I'm in regular contact with them (:

Who is your target audience? If it is, for example, children then you may want to have a guinea pig narrate it. It could follow said piggy arriving at a rescue and the world from his or her point of view.

If its for adults you could almost spoof doccumentaries and have a 'presenter' asking the piggies questions about their experiences. Make the piggies character.

Or it could be very somber and serious like the adverts on tv asking for help for starving children or animals in third world countries.

Things to think about would be: What is the point of the doccumentary? What is the message? What is the USP?

It sounds like a great project though!

I really like the idea of a piggys story peri-rescue, i.e. before they go into rescue, while they're there and then going to their new home!

It'd also highlight rescues, whilst allowing you to be potentially quite creative

Actually, the idea is my little brothers. I asked him how he would like to find out about piggies and that was what he said!

But yes, it gives you a chance to be really creative.

It sounds like you could have a lot of fun with it!

You can make the narrator piggy "talk" by giving him/her little tiny bits of veggies and filming them eating them, and putting a voice to the lip movements :))

I videoed one of my pairs when they fell out and I actually watched it the other day and was quite shocked at the difference between then and now, you could maybe use it for a behavioural angle?
I have two boar pairs, each pair has a piggie under 1 year old so they're majorly hormonal at the mo, could do some videos on that if it would help that angle?
