Hi!
My guinea pig noodle, who I got a few weeks ago has been bonding very well with my older guinea pig doodle. For a few days, noodle is trying to be the dominant guinea pig. Noodle bit doodles lip and made it bleed. Now whenever noodle goes near doodle doodle will run away. Isn’t the older guinea pig supposed to be dominant?

Welcome to the forum!
When I tried bonding my girls, Cocoa (the younger one) made it clear that she was going to be the dominant piggy. I also thought Penny (the older one) should be dominant, but I think age doesn't matter when it comes to competition

My young boar is dominant over my older sow. Sow is 3 and boar is under a year old

Hi!

Frontal bites to the lips are generally the result of a cornered piggy defending themselves. And no, size and age doesn't automatically determine dominance.

However, a serious bite is generally the end of the road for two piggies. They will never be friends again after that.
