Hey,

So I've finally got my two wee guys - photos to follow as soon as they're settled enough.

Just a quick question, since they arrived just over an hour ago they've been at their water bottle quite a lot. I know I might be very paranoid here but is that quite normal or could it be a sign of something? They've been exploring their new home quite a bit and and eating their veggies as well.

Thanks,

Nicola

(P.s. apologies if this is in the wrong place - wasn't quite sure where I should post this!)

Don't worry! its still on the warm side so I'd expect them to be having a drink. the fact both of them are at it to is a good sign! Bet you are well excited!

Great to hear that you have finally got your two boys, cant wait to see the pigtures. :))

Our 2 sets of boars have completely different water bottle activities, Wallace & Tim only drink occasionally but Fred and Barney both drink constantly and will empty a 600ml bottle in about 24 hours, they also eat and drink whatever veg, nuggets and hay you give them, but we put that down to not been fed correctly before we got them.

Keep an eye on their weights, they will probably start to gain with the veggies and hay your feeding them. If you are concerned weigh them once a day at the same time of day and keep a record, you will soon get a feel for them.. There are some great threads in the forum to help you on this.

Lisa & Ali.. xx

It all depends on the piggy - once you get to know them a little better and their behaviours, you'll be able to tell what is normal and what is not. Some piggies will drink lots while others will drink hardly any - my boys always used to drink loads while my girls drink not a lot. It may also be the novelty of something new -it may wear off :)

A high calcium or very dry diet can also make piggies drink more, but I doubt that is the case here :)

Thanks everyone, after posting this question they both seemed to stop drinking for a day or two - everything seems to have evened out now though, I think it was probably just them getting used to their new home!
