Hello

The other day I had all 4 of my guinea pigs out and 2 were displaying weird behavior. One of my oldest , Noodles had her head in the air whilst my youngest, Lily had her mouth over her eye. I couldn't see what she was doing and I was curious if this has happened to anyone else. Noodles was fine with it and it only lasted about 10 seconds. Noodles eye looked normal as usual , though since she had an eye problem and nearly had it taken out ,it fills with white liquid in the corner when she looks up. But the vet said her eye had all healed when she had the eye problem.

Lily already does quite a few unusual things such as
  • Nudging other guinea pigs if they clean themselves
  • Eating other guinea pigs hair
  • Spinning if another guinea pigs hits her bum
  • Eating human hair

She isn't the most social with the other guinea pig except from hitting them. But the other guinea pigs don't notice as she is smaller and not as strong.

Please reply and thank you.

You may find these threads here helpful in understanding the behaviours you are asking about. the links are far more detailed thn I can be in my answer. The behaviours are all in the mild and friendly range of social interaction, especially from playful youngsters. Eye licking is a sign of affection and reaffirming the bond.
