Hi, I'm new to this, and I have two guinea pigs Lola and Coco. They are both 4 1/2 and never had any health problems. just noticed one of my guinea pigs eye has crust all over it, and looks really cloudy, like theirs a film over it and is sunken. When I put up to the light to take a closer look her bad eye reflected blue and Lola's other eye is perfectly fine. Yesterday, her eye was just fine and in the morning nothing seemed to be wrong. It was near the evening when I noticed her eye was milky but I thought it she was just cleaning her face. Currently, she seems to be acting normally, and they plenty of hay and water. I'm just worried she might get or have an infection that can lead to eye loss. I'm not sure how this happened I'm assuming she poked her eye really badly on her hay or it could be some sort of infection.

She should see a vet when they open, as they can assess and give an antibiotic. It does sound like she has maybe poked it, given that it cropped up so quickly. Definitely needs to be seen and an antibiotic drop administered! Poor girl, hope she feels better soon!

Hello, great advice from Freela as always above :)

Please get her seen by a vet ASAP.

Going off you IP you are in Canada so I have found a link to cavy savy vets recommended state side Veterinarians: Canada - Guinea Lynx Records on Guinea Lynx an excellent medical reference website.

Let us know how you get on, sending healing vibes
