Hi everyone!

I’m new to this forum, and I’m also a new owner of a guinea pigs his name is Mr. Hyde and I had him for almost 2 months now and I’m in love with him! Recently I noticed something wrong with his one eye and it really has me worried, to the point where I’d always have him by my side most of the time because of I’m afraid something will happen or worse. I would love some advice and if it’s serious enough to see a vet. Thank you!37D2C025-A631-49AF-9C64-79E000D7DA16.webp9EDC33F3-A2C3-4FAD-8DF3-6A7532FF83F7.webp

I’m not really sure from the photos what exactly is wrong. It’s always best to err on the side of caution and take your piggy to a vet if something is worrying you. Better to be seen and nothing found than to wait it out and eventually discover something is wrong.

May I ask, is he by himself?

No he’s not, I have another guinea pig

I agree with @Siikibam. If you are concerned then you need to take him to a vet. Anything to do with eyes needs a vet to see it quite quickly as things can deteriorate.

It looks watery to me. He could have had a hay poke injury. A vet will use a special dye in his eye which will show up any ulcers o the eye ball and check for any debris in the eye.

Please see a vet ASAP

Yep, a quick check over at the vet. They can pop a little dye in and check for a hay poke. If needed they can then give you drops for him.

Welcome to the forum. If You let us know your location we may be able to suggest a cavy savy vet near to you
